WAX MELT CARE

Our snap bars and wax shapes are lumps of fragranced wax that do no have a wick like a traditional candle. They are designed to be used in appropriate wax warmers.

Our wax melts are best suited to tea light burners, however can also be used with electric burners. But please note that an electric may affect the scent throw of the product.

To Use : Remove wax from packaging, break off a piece or 2 from our snap bar or clamshell, or as much of the wax pot as you like and place in the centre of your burner. (For scents sizzlers use approx 25g, a quarter of a bag) The wax will melt and release the fragrance. Ensure to not overfill the well to prevent any spillages.

When the tea light is blown out/burns out or the electric burner turned off, the wax will re-harden. Unlike candles the wax does not not evaporate meaning you will have to clean it out. Continue to use the wax or scent sizzlers until you can no longer smell the fragrance.

To Remove Used Wax:

There are various ways to remove wax from your burner you just have to decide which one works best for you.

If your warmer has been on and the wax is melted (liquid), use two cotton balls to absorb the liquid wax and dispose of them. This method is perfect for warmers without a removable lid or plugins. Once the cotton balls have absorbed the melted wax, wipe what is left with a paper towel. Please do so carefully to avoid skin contact as irritation may occur. Blow out tea light or turn off burner just before wax removal.

If the wax has cooled down and hardened, we recommend you turn the warmer back on to loosen the wax (under a minute is perfect depending on your burner) and you can remove it as a solid piece. By warming the wax up again the melt can slide out in a single piece, without breaking. If it does not, you could also use a scrapper to avoid burning your fingers and wipe down the warmer with a paper towel once you have removed the wax.

If you don’t have a liner or want an easy to use solution to removing wax from your warmer, then look no further than for a ribbon or a piece of string. A ribbon is more recommended as it is wider and therefore less likely to break the wax. Once you have enjoyed the sweet fragrances of your wax melts and there is only liquid in your warmer, drop a ribbon or piece of string into the liquid wax. Let the wax cool and solidify, then use the ribbon to pull out the solid piece of wax. If the wax breaks, then pick out the broken pieces. Finish by giving your warmer a wipe with a paper towel and you are ready to go again!

This may sound crazy at first, but using your freezer is one of the cleanest ways of removing used wax from your warmer. wait till the used wax has become solid and simply place your warmer in the freezer for ten to twenty minutes. The wax will shrink in this time, popping out of your wax warmer. All you need to do then is wipe the dish clean with a paper towel and you are ready to go again. Please if using the glass dishes do not use this method as it risks smashing them. The freezer makes changing wax melts easy and clean!

Ensure all wax is removed from the well before placing more wax inside.

Do not pour wax down the sink as this an cause blockages.

To remove Scent Sizzlers simply tip into a bin and give it a little wipe and you are good to go
